I dunno if I mentioned before, but it's on my right forearm, and I'm right-handed, so it's been annoyingly difficult to draw or write or anything (I'm currently typing with my left hand, which makes my shoulder ache, oddly.)
Right now, the center of the rash has dissipated, and the skin has peeled away to reveal new skin underneath. Unfortunately, the entire area around the rash has become swollen and red (possibly due to a bandaging mishap the other day but I can't be sure) and I can't move my arm quite right because it stretches and hurts when I do so. Also, the new skin isn't really in stellar shape itself; it's stretched, thin and over sensitive.
Cool still helps but I have concerns the full out ice may be slowing the healing process. Also, noxema no longer is a viable option because of the open places, which burn if I put anything on them.
At work, I have been bandaging it up and putting a cut up tube sock over the bandage. I have gotten the weirdest commentary.

Awww. D: That sucks. At least it's some progress to getting better.
New skin? Does it usually do that with poison ivy?

I found when had a plantar wart removed in my foot that after a while putting Neosporin on it every day was just slowing down the healing process. It has to be fairly dry if you want it to heal quickly. I hope it goes away soon!

Commissions welcome! See my journal for info!
Have you asked a doctor about anything? If I had something like that, I'd probably wonder if I had the plague or something and end up in the emergency room. (especially if scratching makes it much worse... When I have something ichy, I scratch it, so if it's wrong to scratch something, I'd probably be too used to doing it not affecting it any...)

Yeah, that sounds like what's going on with this (except it still helps to use the noxema when I'm cleaning it).
I'm fairly sure it will-- I just wish it didn't itch more before it actually healed up.

Oh, trust me, if you ever get poison ivy, scratching it is the absolute worst thing you can do no matter how it itches.
Haven't needed to ask a doctor. My mother used to get it all the time, I had her sage advice.
